Born in 1961, Colonel Barkat Khan (R) obtained his initial education from Cantt Public Peshawar. Joined Pakistan Military Academy in 1979. He was commissioned in 1981 in one of the oldest infantry battalion of Punjab Regiment. He served on various operational, administrative, logistic, security and protocol assignments in various parts of Pakistan, including 3 tenures on the world’s highest battle field in Northern Areas. He has immense national and international exposure/travels which includes working with United Nations Mission In Haiti. He retired with honour from Pakistan Army in 2007 after completion of 25 years of color service. During his army service he was awarded with number of operational/administrative commendation certificates/ medals on outstanding performance. He was also honored with UN medal and appreciation certificate for his exceptional performance.
In April 2007,He joined Inftra-Structure Development & maintenance Division of Warid Telecom Pvt as Head Operations/Rollout/Site Administration &Security(North Region). He was soon elevated to national level in November 2007. In 2008, it was decided by Dhabi Group to form a separate company thus IDM Warid was named as Wincom Pvt Ltd, which was assigned not only to carryout entire network operation of Warid but to offering their services to other GSM operators too. In December 2009, he was virtually heading the Non-Telco operations, maintenance and rollout in Wincom Pvt Ltd on behalf of Warid Telecom Pvt Ltd. He has the honour to represent Wincom/Warid in GSM industry on highest level meetings/contracts. He ensured 99.99 % of network availability even more then laid down KPIs. He also remained on the board of directors of Raseen Technologies Pvt ltd (Group company of Dhabi Holdings).
Basing on his rich and vast experience of army and corporate world ,In December 2011,he rendered his services to Continental Biscuits Ltd as General Manager Administration & Security.
